𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐖: The Institute of Engineering and Applied Technology (IEAT) is conducting a two-day training titled “𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐮𝐦 𝐅𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐂𝐓-𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐈𝐂-𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬.” Ms. Ma. Melanie A. Cruz, Director of the Management Information System Office and Foresight and Futures Thinking Office, and Ms. Joy Christine V. Sta. Cruz, Chairperson of the Food Technology Department, leads the program in collaboration with the BASC Extension Services Office, Rural Improvement Club-San Ildefonso, and DA-LGU San Ildefonso. The training takes place at the Farmers’ Training Center, in the Information Technology Building and Food Innovation Center at BASC, Pinaod, San Ildefonso, Bulacan. It aims to equip participants with skills in processing vacuum-fried foods, from selecting and handling raw materials to packaging and labeling the finished products.
On the first day, Mr. Mark Angelo G. Inducil and Mr. Florentino S. Casuco Jr., both faculty members from the Information Technology Department, provided lectures on using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in label and packaging design and digital marketing.
On September 24, 2024 (Tuesday), the second day of training will cover essential topics, including food safety, food packaging and labeling requirements, and vacuum frying techniques.
