𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐖: Faculty extensionists from the Institute of Engineering and Applied Technology have facilitated the conduct of a two-day training titled “Mastering Vacuum Frying: Comprehensive Training on Processing, Packaging, and ICT-Enabled Labelling for RIC-San Ildefonso Members.”
Now on its second day, the training is taking place at the Farmers’ Training Center and Food Innovation Center in the BASC Compound, Pinaod, San Ildefonso, Bulacan. Today’s session covers key topics like food safety, packaging and labelling requirements, and vacuum frying techniques.
Ms. Ma. Fe Theriz G. Mallari, faculty member of the Food Technology Department opened the program with a lecture on food safety, emphasizing the importance of proper food sanitation and hygiene. Ms. Marielle DG. Gamboa-Vergara followed with a session on food packaging and labelling regulations.
In the afternoon, Engr. Franz Z. Miranda from the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department led a lecture and hands-on training on the vacuum frying process.
