FSSC President Edwin Santos took his oath of office before the BASC Board of Trustees, marking the beginning of his term as a Student Trustee for the academic year 2024-2025. In this role, he will represent the student body and advocate for their needs.
On his first day on the Board of Trustees, President Edwin 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭—excluding academic scholars—𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Additionally, a new category, 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐎 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓, has been introduced to the incentive program, providing much-needed support for solo parent students. This initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the BASC-Student Welfare Services Unit Unit of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, led by former Unit Head Ms. Kristine Grimaldo and Guidance Counselor Ms. Panjee Navales.
With the full support of University President Dr. Jameson Tan and the members of the Board of Trustees, the proposal has been officially approved, paving the way for a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
