CBSUA inks MOU with BASC

Key officials of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture visited the College on March 1, 2022 for a benchmarking and MOU signing. Led by their President, Dr. Albert Naperi, the CBSUA officials had short round table discussions with BASC officials to explore the specific areas for mutual cooperation.  They also visited some production projects at the College of Agriculture Campus, including the rabbit production project and the clonal nursery.

In his message, President Jameson Tan of BASC narrated the initial talks that happened before the formal MOU signing. He emphasized the importance of the MOU as the first ever MOU for institutional cooperation with another SUC (state university/college) for BASC, and the vast areas where such cooperation will mutually benefit both institutions. He believed in CBSUA’s quality of education since the newly-appointed Vice President for Research, Extension, Production and Development (REPD) of BASC, Dr. Honeylet Nicolas, is an high school and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine alumna from CBSUA.

In his part, Dr. Naperi underscored the need for higher education institutions to collaborate with one another, since the call of the times is no longer about competition but cooperation, especially with regards to helping the country attain the sustainable development goals (SDGs).  He said that with faculty and student exchange, the cultural exchange between the institutions will also be possible.
