Capacitating Dumagat People in the process of obtaining a driver’s license
In an effort to support the Dumagat community, staff from Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) conducted a seminar on obtaining a driver’s license and understanding road traffic laws at the BASC-DRT Campus, held on July 5, 2024. The event aimed to assist Indigenous People (IPs) in acquiring their driver’s licenses and increasing their awareness of traffic regulations.
The seminar featured Mr. Romeo R. Joson, Jr., a BASC mechanic and driver, who shared valuable insights from his personal experiences in driving and vehicle maintenance, emphasizing the importance of ensuring vehicle safety before, during, and after travel.
The activity was led by Dr. Imee D. Esguerra, Director of the Extension Services Office, with the support of Mr. Richard F. Sarmiento, Director of the BASC-DRT Campus, and other staff members. This initiative highlights BASC’s commitment to empowering local communities through education and skill development.
