BASC Welcomes CHED Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III for 1st Quarter Regular Board Meeting

















SAN ILDEFONSO, BULACAN — The Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) held its 1st Quarter Regular Board Meeting on March 24, 2026, at the BASC Farmers Training Center, bringing together members of the Board of Trustees, academic officials, and key stakeholders of the college.
The activity began with a cultural welcome presentation by the BASC Liping Tagalog Folkloric Group (BASC-LTFG) for Board Chairperson Desiderio R. Apag III, D.Eng, PCPE, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). He was received by BASC College President Dr. Jameson H. Tan, together with members of the Administrative Council and the Board of Trustees.
The meeting officially began at 10:00 a.m., with members of the Board of Trustees in attendance. Among those present were Dr. Arthur Dayrit, representing DA Region III Director Hon. Eduardo L. Lapuz Jr.; Hon. Alberto J. Joson, President of the BASC Alumni Association; private sector representatives Hon. Gilbert S. Delos Reyes and Hon. Herman Roy C. Cruz Jr., DVM; University Student Council President Hon. Edwin S. Santos; and Board Secretary Ms. Bea T. Vinculado.
Also joining the meeting via online platform were Hon. Al C. Bonghanoy, who represented the Chairperson of the Committee on Higher and Technical Education of the House of Representatives, Hon. Jude A. Acidre; Hon. Nerissa T. Esguerra from the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development Region III; Dr. Marivic A. Capalad, President of the Faculty and Employees Association; and the two resource persons—Dr. Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal from the Commission on Higher Education Region III and Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, CESO III, from the Department of Science and Technology Region III.
The regular board meeting serves as a venue to discuss key institutional matters and strengthen the college’s programs, services, and direction for the year. The presence of representatives from government agencies, alumni, the private sector, faculty, and students highlights BASC’s commitment to collaborative leadership and inclusive decision-making.
