BASC Undergoes ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance 1 Audit

The Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) continues to demonstrate its commitment to quality service and ongoing institutional improvement as it undergoes the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance 1 Audit from December 1–2, 2025. The activity is being conducted across both the College of Agriculture and Graduate School of Agriculture (CAGSA) Campus and the Main Campus, beginning with an Opening Meeting at the BASC Function Hall.

The first day started with the National Anthem and a prayer. Then, College President Dr. Jameson H. Tan gave impassioned Opening Remarks, stressing BASC’s commitment to maintaining high-quality and nationally recognized standards in its operations and academic offerings. Then, Quality Assurance Director Engr. Alvin G. Quizon officially welcomed and introduced the Bureau Veritas audit team, which included Auditor Elizabeth Villezar and Auditor Giovanni Ken Evardoni.

Auditor Villezar started the meeting by explaining the goals and focus of the surveillance audit in a clear way. This made sure that everyone knew what to expect from the process. Her briefing set a good and cooperative tone for the audit itself, which she and Auditor Evardoni are currently doing by carefully and thoroughly reviewing BASC’s papers, methods, and execution of its quality management system.

Per Audit Plan, the first day will cover audits for programs and units including:

  • PhD in Agricultural Sciences major in Animal Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agricultural Extension
  • OSAS Student Organization
  • REPD Extension Office
  • Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biosystems Engineering (BSABE)
  • OSAS Admissions Office
  • OSAS Guidance Office
  • Office of the College Registrar

On Day 2, the comprehensive evaluation continues, with the focus to shift to additional academic programs, support services, and administrative offices. The second-day audit will cover:

  • MBA Program
  • Top Management, Quality Assurance Office, and International Relations Office
  • MAED Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)
  • REPD Research Office
  • Library Services
  • Maintenance and Management Information System (MIS)
  • Masters in Information Technology (MIT)
  • Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BSDC)
  • Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering (BSGE)

On the first day of the audit, BASC staff, faculty, and administrators showed that they were ready, willing to work together, and very committed to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. The fact that all units are involved shows that the institution is always trying to improve its processes and maintain high standards in both academic and service delivery. BASC’s aim of changing lives and minds through effective, open, and quality-driven institutional procedures remains strong while the Surveillance 1 Audit goes on.
