BASC Students Clinch Two Podium Finishes at RAITE 2026

BACOLOR, Pampanga — Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) students showcased their creativity and digital competencies after securing two podium finishes at the Regional Assembly on Information Technology Education (RAITE) 2026, held on October 2 at Pampanga State University (PSU) in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Inc. Central Luzon, this year’s regional assembly carried the theme “CTRL + NEXT: Empowering Students as Future-Ready Digital Innovators and Technology Leaders.” The event brought together Information Technology students and educators from higher education institutions across Central Luzon for competitions and activities designed to highlight emerging skills and talents in the field of information technology.
BASC earned Second Runner-Up in the Video Editing Competition, besting several contenders in the regional event. The College was represented by Christian Icel V. Bagares, Princess Lara Guiang, Lawrence Legaspi, Safiyah S. Rombo, and Polyn DR. Viste, under the guidance of Coach Mr. Mark Angelo G. Inducil and Assistant Coach Louie Jabonillo. The team also received the Special Award for Best Visual Effects, further highlighting the students’ technical and creative execution.
Adding another victory, the BASC team also emerged Second Runner-Up in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competition, which featured 13 participating teams. The team was composed of David Neil V. Abulan, Dirk Laurence G. Cruz, Prinze Andrei B. Dela Cruz, Marky R. Guevarra, Gian Karlo C. Bernardo, and Sebastian G. Gonzales, with Mr. Ramonchito E. Sarmiento serving as coach.
The College’s participation in RAITE 2026 was coordinated by Dr. Myrtel E. Bernardo, PSITE Coordinator, whose support, together with that of the coaches and faculty members, helped provide students with opportunities to test their skills beyond the classroom and compete alongside their peers in the region.
The twin podium finishes underscore the growing capabilities of BASC students in both creative digital production and competitive technology-based activities. More than bringing home awards, their participation provided an avenue to apply technical knowledge, teamwork, creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills in a competitive regional setting.
Through engagements such as RAITE, BASC continues to provide its students with opportunities to broaden their experience, demonstrate their competencies, and prepare for an increasingly technology-driven professional landscape.
