BASC Strengthens International Partnerships Through Academic and Agricultural Engagements in China


















CHINA — The Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) advanced its international academic and agricultural collaborations through a series of official engagements in China from March 15 to 20, 2026, including visits to Shenzhou Vocational and Technical Education Center, Gucheng Vocational and Technical Education Center (GCZJ), and Gucheng Xintian Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd.
Leading the delegation were Dr. Cecilia S. Santiago, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Maria Krisvie Abigale F. Mendoza, Dean of the College of Education. The visit focused on formalizing academic cooperation through Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signings and exploring long-term partnerships in education and agriculture.
On March 17, the delegation visited Shenzhou Vocational and Technical Education Center, where an intercollegiate education exchange agreement was signed. They were warmly received by Zhang Aixue, Secretary of the General Party Branch, along with Wang Erdong, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office of Hengshui Polytechnic College (an alliance member), Li Xiao, Director of the Modern Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department, Sun Jian, Academic Management Person in Charge of the Intelligent Manufacturing Department, and the school’s leadership team, faculty members, and student representatives.
On March 18, BASC signed a Memorandum of Agreement with GCZJ. Dr. Santiago signed on behalf of BASC, while Liu Qiuhui represented the partner institution. Also present were Hao Jinjie, Party Secretary of the center, and Wu Bingjiang, responsible for international exchanges.
The delegation also visited Gucheng Xintian Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. to explore collaboration in modern agriculture. They toured greenhouse facilities, observed organic fruit and vegetable production, and discussed potential joint initiatives in agricultural technology, research, and training.
During the visit, BASC also participated in academic activities such as classroom observations, demonstration lessons, and campus tours, providing opportunities to exchange teaching strategies, strengthen academic ties, and identify further areas of collaboration.
These engagements support BASC’s efforts to enhance international cooperation and expand future academic exchanges and collaborative programs between the Philippines and China. In line with its vision to be a globally engaged higher education institution in agriculture and allied disciplines, BASC remains committed to strengthening its international partnerships, broadening the college’s development pathways, and creating more opportunities for faculty and students in global learning, research, and practical experiences.
