BASC Prepares Graduating Students for Employment Through Career Orientation 2026

The Office of Student Affairs and Services – Student Welfare Services Unit (SWSU) of Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) conducted the “Ready, Set Go: Gearing Towards Career Readiness” Career Orientation 2026 on May 21 at the BASC Main Campus, as part of its four-day career orientation and career fair initiative for graduating students.

The Main Campus orientation served as the third leg of the activity, following sessions held on May 19 at BASC FFNAS and May 20 at the BASC DRT Campus. The four-day initiative will culminate in the Career Fair on May 22 at the BASC Multipurpose Gymnasium, where graduating students will have the opportunity to connect with prospective employers and explore employment opportunities.

The program formally opened with remarks from Dr. Cecilia S. Santiago, Vice President for Academic Affairs, followed by a message from Dr. Jameson H. Tan, SUC President III. Ms. Anna Marie Jennifer Demetillo, Head of the Student Welfare Services Unit (SWSU), introduced the first resource speaker, Mr. Carlos H. Yabut, Job Placement Officer at the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

Mr. Yabut facilitated discussions on resume writing, communication skills, interview preparation, and work ethics, equipping graduating students with practical knowledge and essential skills for workforce preparation and professional development.

Following the session, Ms. Ma. Pinky I. Villacorte of the SWSU Office introduced Mr. Hannibal Jose Capili, Senior Labor Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), who discussed labor education for graduating students, workplace rights, and employment-related concerns to help students better understand their responsibilities and protections as future employees.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Anna Marie Jennifer Demetillo, who emphasized the importance of career preparedness in helping students navigate the transition from academic life to professional employment.

Through the initiative, BASC continues to strengthen its commitment to equipping graduates with practical employment skills, workplace awareness, and professional readiness as they prepare to enter the workforce.
