Bulacan Agricultural State College

  Institute of Management

Brief History of the Institute

The Institute of Management (IM) was formally established on May 24, 2011, during the tenure of Dr. Gerardo I. Mendoza, the 3rd President of BASC. Its creation was approved by the BASC Board of Trustees during their meeting held on May 24, 2011, at the BASC Conference Room. The Institute’s origins can be traced back to the former Institute of Bio-Resource Sciences and Management (IBSM), which later became the Institute of Agriculture (IA) after separating its Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management Program (BSAM).

The Institute of Management was formed by consolidating three management programs: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management (BSAM), and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM). These programs were previously part of three other institutes: BSAM originated from the former Institute of Bio-resource Sciences and Management, now the College of Agriculture; BSBA was transferred from the Institute of Arts, Sciences, Education, and Graduate Studies (IEASEGS), now the Institute of Education, Arts, and Sciences (IEAS); and BSHM was previously under the Institute of Engineering and Applied Technology (IEAT). According to CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 24, s. 2007, which outlines “Policies and Standards for Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Program (BSAB),” the renaming of BSAM to BSAB was approved on January 4, 2024, under the initiative of the current Dean, Nerilyn J. Victoria.

The first Dean of IM was Mr. Cesar T. Villanueva, succeeded later by Dr. Ronald Reagan T. Alonzo, Ms. Jennifer I. Guevarra, and Dr. Rodrigo G. Buenaventura. Currently, Ms. Nerilyn J. Victoria serves as the incumbent Dean.
