BASC Holds Joint Administrative and Academic Councils Meeting, Welcomes Senator Villanueva

SAN ILDEFONSO, Bulacan — The Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) conducted its Joint Administrative Council and Academic Council Meeting on October 26, 2026, at the BASC Function Hall, headed by College President Dr. Jameson H. Tan.

Following the meeting, Senator Joel “TESDAMAN” Villanueva visited the institution and delivered a message of support for BASC and other state universities and colleges (SUCs). He also shared plans for future initiatives and projects aimed at supporting higher, technical, and vocational education.

Senator Villanueva continues to contribute to BASC’s institutional development as a member of its Board of Trustees, serving in this capacity as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education. He was also the principal author of Republic Act No. 11783, which converted BASC into the Bulacan State Agricultural University (BSAU).

Among the projects associated with his support for the institution is the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Building. He also committed to funding the construction of a ₱106-million, four-storey College of Engineering and Applied Technology Building, which will feature solar panels and a rainwater harvesting facility. These features are intended to support energy efficiency and sustainable water management while providing additional facilities for engineering education and applied technology programs.

During his visit, Senator Villanueva reaffirmed his commitment to supporting BASC and other SUCs, highlighting the importance of continued investments in educational infrastructure and the development of public higher education.

The visit underscored the role of collaboration between educational institutions and government partners in addressing infrastructure needs and strengthening academic opportunities. Such support can help BASC improve its learning environment and further develop programs responsive to the needs of students and the communities it serves.

As BASC continues to advance its academic programs and institutional development, investments in educational facilities and sustainable infrastructure remain important in promoting quality, accessible, and relevant higher education.
