BASC Students Shine at CAASUC III National Arts Month 2026 Competition







MAGALANG, PAMPANGA — Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) once again demonstrated its commitment to nurturing creativity and excellence as its student representatives earned notable recognitions during the CAASUC III regional culture and the arts competition held on March 5, 2026, at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU).
The regional event gathered talented students from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across Central Luzon in celebration of National Arts Month, carrying the theme “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting.” The competition served as a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents, critical thinking, and cultural expression through a diverse lineup of literary and musical events.
Leading the BASC delegation was Dr. Ma. Leonora C. Sta. Ana, Director of the Culture and the Arts Development Office, together with faculty and staff mentors who guided and supported the participants throughout the competition.
BASC students proudly brought home several awards in the literary and creative categories:
- Persuasive Oratory – 3rd Place

John Michael N. Dalisay, BS Agriculture – 4A
Coach: Ms. Evelyn Q. Alera, Instructor I, College of Agriculture - Song Writing – 5th Place
Stephen M. Dantes, BS Hospitality Management – 1
Coach: Mr. Herdison Laurence V. Roberto, Instructor I, Institute of Arts and Sciences
The competition also featured Extemporaneous Speech and Oratoryo, which were participated in Micalyn B. Cruz, BS Biosystems Engineering 4A, and John Michael Santos, Bachelor of Elementary Education 3A, respectively. They were guided and mentored by their respective coaches, Dr. Yosef Eric C. Hipolito and Dr. Anthony C. Ortega.
Through their performances, BASC participants demonstrated not only creativity and mastery of language but also the courage and critical thinking required in high-pressure regional competitions. Their achievements reflect the institution’s continuing commitment to holistic education, where students are encouraged to excel not only in academics but also in culture, arts, and public expression.
The event concluded with a Cultural Show held in the afternoon where performances from various PSAU, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and Bulacan State University (BSU) were featured. As another highlight of the program, a symbolic Unity Dance was performed in celebration of the camaraderie and collaboration among higher education institutions in Central Luzon.
For BASC, the accomplishments of its student artists serve as another proud milestone that highlights the College’s dedication to developing well-rounded graduates who embody creativity, integrity, and excellence.
