BASC Hosts SCUFAR 3 February 2025 Meeting

The Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) hosted the State Colleges and Universities Faculty Association Region III (SCUFAR 3) Regular Monthly Meeting held February 4 – 5, 2025 at the BASC Function Hall. This event brought together faculty regents, trustees, and sports and cultural coordinators from 12 state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the region.
In their Opening Remarks, Mx. Marivic A. Capalad, BASC Faculty Trustee, expressed delight in being the meeting’s host, and further echoed BASC President Jameson H. Tan’s stance that Region 3 SUCs are a family. Meanwhile, in her message on behalf of the College President, Dr. Cecilia S. Santiago, Vice President for Academic Affairs, stressed that SCUFAR 3 is very much welcome to BASC.
During the two-day meeting, attendees discussed a variety of important topics, including strategic planning, the SCUFAR 3 sports festival, team-building exercises, and other necessary matters. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Divina C. Ladrillo, Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) Faculty Regent, and President of SCUFAR 3.
SCUFAR 3 serves as a platform for developing camaraderie among SUC personnel in Region III by providing chances for mentoring, benchmarking, professional development, and resolving faculty welfare concerns. The Association’s goal is to improve the general working environment and build the network of faculty members from other universities through regular meetings and joint efforts.
BASC’s hosting of this event, with cultural performances from the BASC Liping Tagalog Folkloric Group, demonstrates its dedication to academic, cultural and sport collaboration, as well as institutional development, cementing its position as a significant player in furthering higher education in the region.
