BASC Sends Off 173 Athletes for SCUAA III Regional Meet

SAN ILDEFONSO, BULACAN — Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) held an official send-off program for its delegation of 173 student-athletes, collectively called the “Raging Buffalos,” on February 20, 2026, at the BASC Multipurpose Gymnasium.

The event served as a formal platform for the college administration to express support for the athletes. The delegation will compete against 12 state universities and colleges in the region during the SCUAA III Regional Meet, which will be hosted by Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) in Cabanatuan City from February 21 to 27, 2026.

The send-off program, organized by the Sports Development Office headed by Director Joseph F. Avellanoza, to promote unity among the members of the delegation, was moderated by Mr. Jason L. Marcial, a faculty member from the Institute of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Cecilia S. Santiago, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the opening remarks and expressed the administration’s full support for the student-athletes representing the college.

SUC President III Dr. Jameson H. Tan then delivered his message, reminding the athletes to balance competitive effort with sportsmanship. Dr. Gerwin DC. Reyes, Dean of Discipline for the BASC Delegation, followed with a message emphasizing the importance of maintaining proper conduct and character throughout the competition.

The program concluded with a final address from Dir. Avellanoza. Following the ceremony, the BASC Raging Buffalos are set to travel and begin their campaign at the SCUAA III at Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, with the BASC community expressing its support and confidence that the delegation will represent the institution with excellence and integrity throughout the competition.
