BASC College of Education Honors Aspiring Educators Through Pinning and Testimonial Ceremonies

San Ildefonso, Bulacan — The Bulacan Agricultural State College
(BASC) College of Education marked a defining milestone in the journey of its
future educators as it held its Testimonial and Pinning Ceremonies on January
16, 2026, at the BASC Multi-Purpose Gymnasium. More than a ceremonial rite, the
event symbolized the students’ formal transition from academic preparation to
professional responsibility.
Carrying the theme “Educators of Tomorrow: Beacons of Integrity,
Builders of a Better Society,” the ceremony brought together teaching
interns, newly licensed teachers, faculty members, and proud families in a
celebration of perseverance, purpose, and promise. The program formally
commissioned teaching interns from the Bachelor of Elementary Education,
Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, and Bachelor of Secondary
Education major in Science programs, while also recognizing the 218 newly
Licensed Professional Teachers who passed the September 2025 Licensure
Examination for Teachers (LET).
The program formally opened with an address by Dr. Maria Krisvie Abigale
F. Mendoza, Dean of the College of Education, who emphasized that teaching is
not merely a profession but a vocation rooted in integrity, service, and
lifelong commitment. She reminded the teaching interns that the path they are
about to take requires both competence and character.
BASC President Dr. Jameson H. Tan followed with an inspirational
message, expressing gratitude to parents for entrusting their children to the
institution and encouraging students to continuously pursue excellence. He
challenged the future educators to aim high, not only in their teaching
practice but also in forthcoming board examinations, as part of BASC’s
sustained tradition of academic distinction.
Reinforcing this message, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr.
Cecilia S. Santiago highlighted BASC’s consistent strong performance in the LET
at both regional and national levels. She underscored the institution’s growing
reputation as a leading teacher education institution and further motivated the
students by announcing a personal cash incentive for any BASC graduate who
secures a Top Three placement in the board examinations.
Bridging achievement and aspiration, the ceremony honored outstanding
LET passers while inspiring teaching interns who will soon follow the same
path. The Testimonial Ceremony served as one of the program’s most poignant
moments, as alumni Joanna Mae F. Imperio (BEEd), Frances Jowela C. Sanchez
(BSEd–Science), and Russel Mae Dimla (BSEd–English) shared personal reflections
on resilience, growth, and their commitment to the teaching profession.
Emotion filled the hall during the Pinning Ceremony, as faculty members
and parents affixed pins onto the interns’ uniforms. The simple yet profound
gesture symbolized readiness, trust, and the responsibility entrusted to them
as future educators prepared to stand before their own classrooms.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Cynthia M. Sanchez,
Associate Dean of the College of Education, who expressed deep appreciation to
parents for their unwavering support and partnership in shaping the students’
academic journey. The ceremony ended with the singing of the BASC Hymn,
followed by a parent orientation on internship guidelines and expectations.
More than a celebration, the Testimonial and Pinning Ceremonies affirmed
BASC’s collective commitment to integrity, excellence, and service. With newly
pinned teaching interns ready to enter the field and 218 newly licensed
educators embarking on their professional paths, BASC once again reinforces its
role in nurturing educators who will help build a more just, informed, and
empowered society.
