BASC Non-Teaching Personnel Elevate Capabilities Through Transformative Leadership Program

TAGAYTAY CITY, Philippines – The Transformative Leadership Program, a vital training-workshop for Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) non-teaching personnel, was conducted from May 26 – 27, 2025 at Quest Hotel in Tagaytay City. This impactful event, themed “Heart @ Work: Shaping the Future of Higher Education, Empowering SUC Personnel for Purposeful, Professional, and Productive Services,” aimed to enhance participants’ leadership capabilities. The program was conducted and coordinated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Office of Commissioner Desiderio “Bong” Apag III, D.Eng.

 

The program commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Ronald Reagan T. Alonzo, Vice President for Administration and Finance. Dr. Emmanuel F. Silan, a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Coaching Master Trainer (ICI, IN), served as the resource speaker, leading the two-day event. Facilitating the program were Ms. Ariadne Rose Esquillon, Ms. Czharlyz Nicole N. Manalang, Mr. Albert R. Trinidad, and Mr. Inno Franco E. Rodriguez from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), who also served as documenters.

 

Discussions led by Dr. Silan covered topics including Self-Worth and Self-Efficacy, Self-Awareness and Personality Profiles, and the Enneagram: Nine Personality Types. The program also addressed Transformative Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), focusing on emotions, cognitions, and behavior. Sessions included NLP and Leadership Mindsets, Transformative NLP in liberating beliefs, Leadership and Growth Mindsets, and strategies for Changing Mindsets.

 

Further modules covered Leadership Essentials and the integration of NLP and Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in the workplace.

 

The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Dr. Jameson H. Tan, BASC President, where he highlighted the importance of the learnings from the training in contributing to BASC as it transitions into a full-fledged university.

 

This Transformative Leadership Program highlights Bulacan Agricultural State College’s commitment to equipping its non-teaching personnel with skills and mindsets to provide purposeful, professional, and productive services, thereby contributing to the future of higher education at the institution.
