Creating Meaningful Connections at Home: Empowering Parents as Home-Based Teachers in DRT, Bulacan
On September 25, 2024, the project team of the Creating Meaningful Connections at Home: Empowering Parents as Home-Based Teachers in DRT, Bulacan, recently hosted a significant training session focused on enhancing the relationship between home-based parents and their children. The event, held at Sapang Bulak Elementary School, brought together key figures in education, including Dr. Cecilia S. Santiago, the Vice President for Academic Affairs of BASC, Mrs. Herminia C. Roxas, the school principal of Sapang Bulak Elementary School, along with parents and other project team members.
The training, titled Building Rapport: Mother Home-based Teacher and Children in Connection, aimed to provide valuable insights into creating positive and effective learning environments at home, empowering parents to become more involved in their children’s education.
The resource speaker, Ms. Maria Krisvie Abigale F. Mendoza, a project team member, led the session with expertise and enthusiasm. Ms. Mendoza’s experience in educational outreach and community engagement resonated with the participants, who learned practical techniques for fostering trust, improving communication, and enhancing the learning experience for children outside of the traditional classroom setting.
