UPLB to have research collab on rabbits with BASC
Researchers from the College of Agriculture and Foods Science of the University of the Philippines Los Baños came to BASC on March 18, 2022. They discussed a collaborative research on rabbits, to be funded by DA-BAR, with Dr. Honeylet J. Nicolas, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production, and Development. VP Nicolas is grateful for this opportunity for BASC faculty researchers to work with, and learn from, esteemed UP professors. Leading the UPLB team are Dr. Cristy M. Bueno and Dr. Maria Cynthia R. Oliveros, both prolific researcher-authors on animal science and meat processing. “Rabbit production system and post-production handling, carcass primary processing, and meat value-adding” is the working title of the research. The Association of Rabbit Meat Producers, Inc. (ARaMP) will also be tapped as a collaborator.
