BASC's Rice-Native Chicken Farming Technology at DA RFO 3 Tech Forum 2024
Dr. Imelda S.A. Navarro took the stage at the recent DA RFO 3 Tech Forum last November 4-5, 2024, themed “Harnessing Agricultural Innovations Toward Building Technology-Based Businesses.” The event showcased advanced agricultural technologies and products developed by researchers and R4D collaborative institutions across the region.
Dr. Navarro presented a technology pitch on the “Rice-Native Chicken Farming System,” developed through their project, “Rice-based Farming System Integrated with Free-range Chicken Production for Small-hold Farms.” This innovative system was developed through the concept of Palayamanan technology, providing an alternative production approach to address pressing challenges in intensive rice farming by incorporating Free-range Chicken Production as an additional component. An open forum followed after her presentation, accommodating questions from the attendees, especially those who had an interest in adopting their technology.
Mrs. Joanna Marie S. Bradecina also attended the forum and exhibited salted eggs and IEC materials from BASC.
